Fulham Football Club
What do people think about him? For me he has been infuriatingly inconsistent, and hasn't had a good game since Arsenal. Do you think he should get more time or are we better off without him?

Permalink Reply by Adam Hall on February 12, 2012 at 9:22 Ruiz is class act, when played in the correct way we have seen the best of him. Some of the things he has done are very Bergkampesc, we will see him in much better light next season, especially as the personnel changes to the way Jol wants to play and has the personnel around him.
Permalink Reply by Graham Galliford on February 12, 2012 at 9:23 He wanders around like a lost soul. Lightweight and gives the ball away all over the pitch. He may well come good but yesterday he should've been on the bench and Baird should have played instead. Most fans knew It would not be a game for Ruiz and, as it happens, he contributed nothing.
Permalink Reply by David on February 12, 2012 at 9:38 I figure he'll come around at some point...he does look like he has the capabilities of making good things happen, especially when he has the ball in open space...just hasn't been able to make a real impact yet. Sure wish I had seen some of his FC Twente games to get a look at the 10 million Ruiz...and also the players he had around him over there, for that matter.
Permalink Reply by DaveyBhoyFFC on February 12, 2012 at 9:50 I still think he needs a bit more time to prove himself.
He has shown flashes of what he is capable of already. Hopefully with a bit more time he'll get to grips with the more physical nature of the English game. He does appear a little lightweight and it's frustrating watching those lame semi-attempts to win the ball in the air. Why so many long balls are pumped in to him during a game is beyond me??
Permalink Reply by Hughie on February 12, 2012 at 12:29 Totally agree with Graham, Ruiz needs to get on the weights as he gets knocked off the ball too easy, he's afraid to tackle and he has no pace. He does show flashes of what he's capable of but unless he addresses these other issues he will be a luxury we can't afford at the cottage!

he's an ok player with potential. i am pleased he is with us. just not worth 10mil.
good points by all, but I like what alex says about gaining trust from the others... this used to happen to demps when he was first with the club, no one passed to the guy when he made some good runs. I think it takes time to develop that understanding. Amazingly he seems to be on the same page with demps with regard to setting him up, now the reverse needs to be developed, and I think it will.

Lots of people complain about his £10million tag price but think about it ,he could also changed his mind last minute to go to new castle last summer, however choose fulham. He did play beautiful in holand i saw him score and assist quite often and im sure he will do that here, just need time to adapt to a quicker pace and stronger play; when times come he will be a legend in this club , you already can see some hints, he may be slow but his brain is really quick,he is alway thinking ahead . Ruiz is guy that works for the team, humble worker ,he can create opportunities for teammates not being selfish to gain personal glory, he is also working right now to get the trust from teammates, cause i seen times when he gets in position to recive and they just play the ball to a players that are not well set at the moment, so next season should be enogh time for him to gain trust and help more. I still believe fulham has a great team that is getting better and at future is even more promising, Frei, dembele, ruiz, dempsey, and pogoyak attaking will be intimidating force in a near future.
Permalink Reply by AntFFC on February 12, 2012 at 12:41 He's a classy player, he's shown some great passing and assists with Dempsey and Dembele. The trouble is he's still playing like he's in the Dutch league. But I think he'll come good by next season and be a real asset to us.
Seriously?! He's been here less than a season. The general lifestyle of the country is different, let alone the football. You can't judge him yet. He needs time to settle in the country as well as the league. Judge him mid way through next season. I think he come good next year, there have been glimpses of utter brilliance.
