Fulham Football Club
Suarez should be banned from playing in the Premier League. Disgrace to the game of English Football.

Permalink Reply by John Smith on February 11, 2012 at 23:23 I think that'd be an overreaction. I think Liverpool should sell him, if they don't It'd be very hard to respect them.

Permalink Reply by My Name Is (Steve) Earle on February 11, 2012 at 23:25 So if Liverpool FC don't do anything (as they haven't so far), nothing should be done?

Permalink Reply by Elvis on February 11, 2012 at 23:35 Its a difficult one for sure. If the FA step in, they would have to give the same sanction to Ferdinand too. Then I fear that the game would become a farce if it requires legislation to stop petty insults on the field.
I know that argument can go both ways...but I would suggest the FA lean very heavily on Liverpool (and possibly Utd) to take a stand.
Liverpool have always had the benefit of public opinion. Even after Heysel and Hillsborough, Liverpool (the club) seemed to enjoy a generally positive approval rating from neutrals. (In comparison to say, ManU). I think that took a real bashing today. The owners, who we know want to maximize Liverpool's worldwide brand, will not want to be associated with any type of racism. The FA should lean on them to take a public stance.
Kenny won't do it. Perhaps the owners might.

I think they should knock the handshake thing on the head. All it seems to do is cause trouble and re-ignite old wounds (if you'll pardon that metaphor road crash).
Maybe they could get the players to clap each other off the pitch instead, like they do in rugby? At least players can do it half-hearedly without directly snubbing/winding up individuals on the other side.

Permalink Reply by Shaun Walker on February 12, 2012 at 0:09 If they guy felt it was rough justice why did he not appeal the ban and fight his innocence? There is no sportsmanship in him at all. He has let the world of football down today.

Permalink Reply by John Smith on February 12, 2012 at 0:23 Barton should not be allowed to play. I've no doubts about that. Nor should the likes of Lee Hughes.

Both he and some of the Man Utd players are being so pathetic and childish and need their heads knocked together. On the other hand you would have thought that he turned up outside Evras house dressed as. kKK member with a burning cross and a noose.
If he is banned then what about stub a f** in the face of a trainee Barton or any other footballer who has assaulted another player...all should be banned from football?
Permalink Reply by John Smith on February 12, 2012 at 0:25 Well it was Liverpool's decision ultimately, they had to decide whether or not to appeal. But the question applies to them too, if they were so sure he was innocent why didn't they appeal?
